Isn’t Jesus and Christianity white man’s religion? Native American Christian Answers (Byron Sarracino)

Is Jesus the whiteman’s God? Byron Sarracino, from the Laguna Pueblo in New Mexico takes on this popular misconception that Jesus and Christianity belong to anglo people. It’s a question that he was personally confronted by a family member. It’s something that he has really thought through.

Byron is speaking from a Christian Native American – First Nations perspective. He points out that people from all over the world share a common faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Being a Christian is not tied to or dependent on one’s ethnicity. Jesus came for the Human race. The Gospel is God’s answer for the need of every person no matter their skin color, language, or identity. Jesus came for people from every tribe and nation. He said Himself, in the Bible in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
